The Customer
The Beech House was opened by Hunky Dory Pubs and is the first in a joint venture between Oakman Inns & Restaurants and Enterprise Inns.
It stands on a site that has been home to an inn since the 18th century – latterly known as The Lazy Cow.
The Beech House has a funky interior which can house 120 in the enlarged restaurant, plus it has the added attraction of an elegant outside area.
The Challenge and Solution
We were contacted by the Director of Oakmann Inns to provide the Beech House pub with a shipping container for their City Garden that incorporates an alfresco bar and outside dining area.
The container bar features an oak laminated food safe worktop with bi-folding doors, and under-counter washer unit, chillers and bar units with power sockets and beer lines connected directly back to the bar’s cellars.
The container was painted in a vibrant green, in keeping with the City Garden theme, and has a polyester awning attached to the roof to keep customers dry while enjoying a beverage or two.
What The Beech House Had To Say
Dan Dawson, General Manager at The Beech House said: “We created a completely new function space for up to 120 guests with a double tepee and the container bar. It’s proving hugely popular as a way to expand the pub’s capacity/saleable area. It’s boosted business by another 8 per cent in the last 6 months.”
